MIB3.NET Logo

Hello! MIB3.NET is a tiny free utility designed for Preh/Joynext manufacture MIB3 or MOI3 infotainment systems. The primary function is to unlock crucial FEC and SWaP functions, including factory navigation, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Sport HMI. This project is provided strictly for educational, research, and non-commercial bench-testing purposes.

Terms of Use, Educational License, and Liability Disclaimer

By downloading, installing, running, or utilizing MIB3NET (hereinafter referred to as the "Software"), you (the "User") expressly acknowledge, understand, and agree to be legally bound by the following Terms of Use, Educational License, and Liability Disclaimers. If you do not agree to every term contained herein, do not download, access, or attempt to execute the Software.

1. Educational Purpose & Free Utility

• Strictly Educational & Non-Commercial: MIB3NET is provided completely free of charge and is intended exclusively for educational, research, personal experimentation, and non-commercial analysis purposes. The Software is an independent utility designed to explore and understand MIB3 / MOI3 system structures. It is not a commercial product, service, or commercial good.

• Assumption of Risk & Technical Disclaimer: MIB3NET modifies low-level firmware, system memory structures, network configurations, and FEC/SWaP within MIB3/MOI3 head units.

• Risk of Hardware Damage ("Bricking"): Executing firmware patches, manual updates, network scripts, or bootloader operations carries severe inherent risks. Interrupted power supply, corrupted media, or incompatible software train versions may cause total system unresponsiveness or hardware failure ("bricking"). The User assumes 100% of the risk associated with flashing, patching, or modifying their vehicle's infotainment system.

• Firmware Version Sensitivity: MIB3NET is designed for specific software versions and hardware configurations. Attempting to execute the Software on unsupported software train versions, or applying future dealer/Over-The-Air (OTA) updates over a patched system, may disable features, disrupt unit stability, or cause system lockouts.

2. Manufacturer Warranty & Dealer Diagnostic Notice

• Warranty Voidance: Installing third-party patches, modifying network stacks, altering FEC/SWaP codes, or overriding OEM unit configurations may likely invalidate factory or extended warranties covering the infotainment head unit, Virtual Cockpit, connected display screens, and associated electronic control units (ECUs).

• Diagnostic Logging & SVM: Modifications made by MIB3NET may generate Software Version Management (SVM) errors (e.g., fault code B201A or checking software version management flags) when the vehicle is connected to manufacturer diagnostic tools (ODIS, VCDS, OBDeleven). Dealerships or OEM diagnostic networks may flag the vehicle, leading to denied warranty claims.

3. Safety, Legal Compliance, & Intended Use

The Software and any functions unlocked by it (including but not limited to Video-in-Motion, full-screen navigation, performance monitors, wireless interfaces, or extended media capabilities) are intended strictly for stationary, off-road, bench testing, or display/show use only.

• Driver Distraction: Enabling video playback, web access, or complex menus while the vehicle is in motion poses severe risks of driver distraction, collision, physical injury, or death.

• Local Law Compliance: Distracted driving laws vary by jurisdiction. Unlocking media or menu capabilities for operational drivers or passengers where prohibited by local, state, provincial, or national laws is strictly forbidden. The User bears sole legal responsibility for compliance with all applicable traffic laws, motor vehicle equipment standards, and road safety regulations.

4. Non-Affiliation, Intellectual Property, & Donations

• Trademarks: MIB3NET is an independent, open-source educational project. MIB3NET and its developers are not affiliated, associated, authorized, endorsed by, or in any way officially connected with car brands or any of their subsidiaries or affiliates.

• OEM Trademarks: The names "MIB", "MMI", "App-Connect", "Virtual Cockpit", as well as related logos, model names, and marks, are registered trademarks of their respective copyright and trademark holders. Reference to these marks is strictly for identification and compatibility purposes.

• No Commercial Exchange: The Software is provided free of charge. No fees, prices, or commercial transactions are involved in obtaining or using the Software. Any links or addresses provided for voluntary donations, tips, or coffee contributions ("buy me a coffee") represent purely optional gifts or expressions of gratitude by users to support ongoing open-source development time and effort; they do not constitute a purchase price, commercial transaction, or exchange for goods or services.

• Software License: Use of the Software grants the User a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to execute MIB3NET for personal, non-commercial educational purposes. Redistribution for profit, resale, or commercial repackaging is strictly prohibited.

5. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, under no circumstances shall the creators, developers, contributors, distributors, or website operators of MIB3NET be held liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or exemplary damages arising out of or in connection with the use or inability to use the Software.

6. Voluntary Donations & Non-Refundable Nature

Because the Software is entirely free and distributed without charge, any financial contributions, tips, or donations sent voluntarily by users are final, non-refundable gifts given freely to support the developer, and do not establish any vendor-customer or commercial relationship.

7. Indemnification

The User agrees to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the developers, contributors, and distributors of MIB3NET against any legal claims, liabilities, losses, costs, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from the User’s installation, misuse, distribution, or operation of the Software or features unlocked by it.
